First of all, I need to tell you guys that I am on a super tight deadline trying to get the doodles done for Darth Paper*… So I might not be able to answer all your emails/comments, etc… for a while. Please forgive the delay!
While I’m busy, why don’t you guys get busy and fold an Origami Wampa?
I made one recently myself and then Super-Folder DT just sent me a real scary one.
So I thought we’d see what the rest of you could come up with BEFORE I posted mine or DT’s….
Are you game?
You know where to send them…. tom (at) origamiyoda.com
* I was giggling a bit while working on the Soapy the Monkey drawings today. He’s just a funny dude!
Here’s Super-Folder Oscar H. and his Origami Clone Trooper!!
You can now download the fantastic Recorded Books version of “The Strange Case of Origami Yoda” for about $10!
Voice Dude Mark Turetsky did a great job as the voice of Tommy. He and the rest of the cast really add something to the story, I think. In their hands, it’s quite a drama!

Super-Folder DT strikes again with this awesome Origami Cad Bane! Scary!
Our newest Super-Folder is Derek who not only folded an awesome C3P0, he made some really nice, CLEAR directions!! (Just click on them to see them bigger…)
Way to go Derek! This is fantastic!
I am so excited to be telling you about my big news! It’s really, really exciting! (And it also ends a long-running secret.)
My awesome publisher, Amulet, is going to come out with three more of my books! This is great news, because Amulet did such an amazing job with Origami Yoda and Horton Halfpott! I just can’t wait until these books are done so I can see what they look like and share them with all of you!
First of all, it’s time to end a secret … which some people have already figured out anyway.
A Washington DC librarian named Jessica made this amazing Origami Leia by changing the Bird Base. (The bird base is a standard way of starting many origami models, including the crane. Click here if you want instructions for the crane/bird base. Super-folder Jessica has not sent me instructions for Origami Leia, by the way.)
Super-Folder DT adapted the deluxe Yoda to make this deluxe Mace Windu!
I just got back from a trip (that’s why there was nothing new on the site for a few days) and found some great stuff waiting in my inbox.
Super-folder Chad had sent in a ton of photos for the Vader contest + a ton of great origami.
Check out this great group of New Hope characters!
Here’s a close-up of Leia….
If there was a contest for the Most Super Super-Folder, Chad would be one of the Top 5! He really raises the stakes by not waiting for instructions. He experiments and takes chances… and they pay off! (Luckily, there is no such contest.)
Wow! Check out Super-Folder Jake’s Origami Yoda, which he’s calling a Cover Yoda. It’s his own design!
