A trip down memory lane…

We’re REALLY close to launching the new OrigamiYoda.com system!
I’ve tested it and it works great!

But, before we say goodbye to the old OrigamiYoda.com, let’s take a little trip down memory lane with some of these old-timey pictures….

Goodbye old origamiyoda.com system! We had some great times!

  Noah wrote @

I remember these! Ah, the good old days.

  SF AustinM wrote @

I remember the yaks… LOL! My origami isn’t in there… :( That’s surprising, I’m an original SF! Oh well. Farewell, past OY! I hope it’s up by Tuesday. Will you do a digital launch for Jabba soon, Tom? PS My birthday is a week from today (August 2nd)!

  Crubbit-er8321 :D wrote @

Happy Birthday to you!

  Weaver wrote @

Bye! I’m not that old of a SF, I joined at the Savage Opress contest. That was my first entry…it was so lame…

  SF cau2134 wrote @

Dude, Savage Opress was AWESOME!

  Weaver wrote @

Thanks!

  SF cau2134 wrote @

Your welcome!

I haven’t been a SF for long, but I can remember a lot of stooky stuff!

So long, old OY. It is time for the mask to go on and for the New Fold to arise…

(:-P)

G-bye, old system. I wasn’t that old of an SF… I joined right before Art2 D2… Maybe February?

  Yodamaster wrote @

Does this mean it won’t be a wordpress anymore? Also, Tom, I need your help. I just bought a 1st printing of Heir to the Empire, but here’s the catch, ITS SIGNED. I payed like $3.50 for it. Do you know how much it could go for?

  Tom Angleberger wrote @

That’s got to be worth at least $3.49!

  Anonymous wrote @

all we need now is SF ChadH to make this a true memory lane

  Yodamaster wrote @

Well, you’re not wrong!

  Yodamaster wrote @

YES! Chad H’s Cover Yoda! Who doesn’t remember THAT one!? He was amazing. But, he never posted the instructions.

I LOVE THAT BOOK!!!!!! I would kill for a signed one!

  Yodamaster wrote @

I just got it because it was the first SW book ever. Then I look inside, and I’m like “Oh great, the owner put his NAME in it.” The I look at the signature, and the authors name, and the letters matched up! I found it accidentally! Now I’m afraid to read it in case I damage it!

  Tom Angleberger wrote @

Yodamaster, I’m shocked!
Splinter of a Minds Eye is the first SW novel ever.

But your Zahn find does sound like it might be worth something. Have you compared prices on eBay?

It was the first Star Wars EU Book?! WOAH!!!!!! Awesome.

And dude, that book is like, only twenty or thirty years old. I’m about to get some Star Trek novels that are older than that.

It’ll be fine! I have a first edition of Tatooine Ghost and I’m reading it right now! (It’s really good.)

Have you ever read Heir to the Empire? It and the other two books are so stooky!

  rfjfrf wrote @

Didn’t know about splinter of a minds eye. And I keep looking on eBay, and no one has it. Just that newer edition.

  Tom Angleberger wrote @

Very controversial book.
Written between 4 and 5 with Lucas’ permission… but with some very un-canon stuff in it.

  Yodamaster wrote @

Also, I need to ask this, will the posts that we can go back to now be converted? Please do if not already done. They’re nice to look back at. Plus, I like to go back to the instructions, like a lot of others, and fold the designs.

  Tom Angleberger wrote @

It’s unclear right now.

  Yodamaster wrote @

I just can’t imagine it without the older posts. They’re what gave us our name. Super Folders. Comments from originals. Discoveries from Super Folders. News and instructions. It’s all so imperative to keep.

  Tom Angleberger wrote @

Thanks, dude. I want to keep them, too. but there are … issues.
I’ll tell the folks what you say, though…

  SF Gavin W wrote @

Also is there going to be like a gallery section for all the origami pics to be archived into?

SF Zach and origami Plo-Koon wrote @

  Shavod98 wrote @

cool! he added mine!

  Sf Jared wrote @

Well the old website was fun hopefully the new one will be the same

  sf turtle12 wrote @

i remember seeing the first pic by sf Sammy last YEAR! I almost forgot about it! Didn’t he win a competition or something with his use of cups for the podracers?

  Yodamaster wrote @

Well, it had a good run. I feel something’s not going to go right though. Like, it just won’t be the same. Like, it seems this one, there’s everyone who knows each other, and it’s a fan community, but I don’t know why I feel it’ll get so big, we just won’t know anyone, and it gets out of hand with too many people. Maybe I’m wrong. Probably am. Just a bit sentimental on the old site I guess.

  Tom Angleberger wrote @

Yes, I’m sentimental, too. But after it goes up, the first people to sign up are going to be all of you SFs! So it’ll be the same people… and we’ll lose some and gain some as always.

  Yodamaster wrote @

Sounds good actually. August 6th = BEST DAY EVER! First, the book, then, my Adam West Batman figures come in! What’s next!? Also, I just realized something, you ever notice all those books with the things on the covers that say “amazing book-New York Times”? They are just never as good as the ones that DON’T say that. OY, the first DOAWK books, etc.

  sfaa wrote @

origami :)
